not quite supressing a shiver, a shudder,
almost like waking up with the zings,
frightened eyes steal a glimpse into the darkness.
no idea where she’s going, let alone why,
she only knows that her familiar fades quickly.
she must put the stone walls behind her.
head high, she stretches her wings
and jumps into the unknown,
a journey without a haven.
her being a timid query,
there’s no earthly way of knowing
on a cold dark night.
